🧶 Yarning Connection Woven Rug
Creating Spaces for Conversation, Culture & Belonging
Join us to explore the meaning, symbolism, and cultural purpose behind the Yarning Connection Woven Rug. Our Rug is a tool designed to create safe spaces for yarning, reflection, and strengthening cultural identity.
Inspired by the Sacred River of Knowledge, the rug’s design honors 65,000+ years of culture, story, and connection — represented through the golden wattle (Aboriginal) and red hibiscus (Torres Strait Islander), ancestral meeting circles, and the spirit that flows through Community.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- Use the rug as a cultural teaching tool
- Create safe yarning spaces for Future Old People, families & Community
- Embed Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander perspectives with courage and purpose
- Creating Spaces for Conversation, Culture & Belonging
